You may be wondering about your surfacing of a certain name.
It would be impossible to list all of the different names of stone, tile, etc. in our Surface Types section. There are hundreds and hundreds.
What you need to know is that:
- The name you were told may be incorrect as to the actual nature of the surfacing and how it should be judged for sealing results.
- If not incorrect, the name may be misleading as relates to sealing and cleaning purposes. This is not on purpose, but because of innocent marketing reasons by the seller.
- The name does not really matter. No matter what it is called, you need to test for
absorption range and appearance and not trust anything else.
Often surfacing is sold under names that are confusing and misleading in relation to sealing and cleaning. The Surface Types section will aid in surface identification as to type and absorption. For instance, there are "Quarry Tile", "Quarry Stone", "Quarry Stone Tile", "Stone Look Tile", "Stone Tile", "Slate Tile", and on and on. These are very different materials when it comes to sealer absorption and cleaning concerns. The Surface Types section will help to determine what you really have despite it's name.
Please do not order products unless you are confident.
