SAME DAY SEALER
Seal The Same Day As Grouting
No Change To Color
No Gloss - Retains Traction
|
 |
"Same Day Sealer" can be applied anytime, but is designed so that it can be applied the "same day" as the grouting is done, while the tile and grout are not yet dry. This answers the main reason contractors usually do not want to apply sealers, which is:
A contractor does not want to make another trip to the job site days after the installation is complete. The cost of time and the delay of final payment make it undesirable.
By using "Same Day Sealer" - The job can be immediately protected from the activity of other trades that can stain the tile and/or grout.
"Same Day" was developed over 10 years ago in order to meet the special needs of contractors and, like all our other products, is used almost as much by do-it-yourselfers.
Same Day Sealer is the easiest to use sealer when you are sealing only grout joints and not the tile.
Obviously, you do not need to seal a non-absorbent glazed tile. But, you definitely do need to seal the absorbent grout joints. Please Note:
When using "Same Day" to seal the grout joints of a glazed tile (or other non-absorbent material) project:
- DO NOT spread the sealer over the whole surface that includes the tile faces.
- Just make a puddle in the grout joints, let it absorb, and move the remainder down the grout joint to the next area to be puddled.
- Any liquid not wiped off and allowed to dry on the glazed tile (or non-absorbent surface) will leave a whitish residue. Of course, it is not possible to keep the sealer off the tile faces entirely. Just follow the label directions to simply and easily wipe off the tile faces as you apply sealer.
- If you forget to wipe off the tile face, or miss some areas, the label describes how to easily remove any dried sealer residue from the tile face.
- If you follow the label directions, you will not find a quicker, easier way to achieve an excellent sealing job from any other source.
- Contractors will typically refill our applicator tip quart bottle from gallons and furnish to their crews to protect the jobs immediately. Some also wash and reuse the cleanup rags which is another cost saving feature of this sealer.
Not sure if an Aldon product is right for you? Good! You never know if the results will be exactly what you expect until you try it on your project. Order and eliminate the guesswork. See label reproduction below for application instructions.
PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS:
- A proprietary formula in a water base.
- Highly penetrating
- Used indoors and outdoors - does not yellow or break down, therefore, there should be no need to reapply every year or two, if applied per label directions the first time.
- Clear, usually no effect to material color (color enhancement), however, as with all penetrating sealers, some very light colored materials may darken slightly. The only reported significant darkening of grout color was on a particular grout manufacturer's "blue" color grout, which is considered a "sensitive" color.
ITEMS OF INTEREST:
- Quarts come with an applicator spout on the bottle for easy application into grout joints.
- This is one of those products that has many more applications than tile and masonry.
- "Same Day" is the ideal protection on newly applied plaster or stucco.
- It can be applied immediately
- It will inhibit the fading of color. This usually shows up over a few years as a significant color difference between the shaded and sunny areas.
- It will inhibit the
efflorescence that frequently shows up on stuccos that are exposed to wind driven rain or sprinklers.
- Used on artistic plaster (textured, artisan, "Venetian", european style, etc.) it is invisible but protects far better than hardware store sealers typically used on this expensive finish.
- An Aldon sealer can do a lot more than just protect and look pretty. See the
for addressing other benefits of using a sealer, such as: strengthening weak or powdery surfaces, making minor color problems disappear, stopping efflorescence, etc. These issues are covered in detail in
- You can protect a glossy finish sealer from traffic wear patterns by using Aldon Lifeguard.
- See the product label reproduction below for all the information on surface preparation, application technique, drying time, etc. This label reproduction will always be the most current. Because we are constantly improving information and passing on tips from users, this could be more up to date than the label on the container.

When you read all the health and safety warnings, you will see we have done our best to make you think about working with any chemicals from any manufacturer. Even household cleaners purchased in supermarkets (many with more hazardous ingredients than we use due to cost factors) should be used with common sense and awareness. People have been injured by not knowing you can create poisonous gases by mixing chlorine bleach with some cleaning products. One of the many criteria involved in Aldon products is that all our products will be used with any other of our products and no normal combination of usage events should be hazardous. Nevertheless, use common sense and don't be in a hurry. Let each step prove itself satisfactorily before proceeding to the next. |
