Product: "Grout Residue Remover"

Remove haze or deposits left after grouting

(a case = 4 gallons)
Grout Release

What "Grout Residue Remover" does:

.Removes the dulling haze, and even grout smears and deposits, left behind after the joints have been grouted.
. The grouting process leaves a cement residue paste on the surfacing face that requires many "washes" of water and a sponge to remove. Usually a light film isn't noticed right away. Or until you wonder why the surface color is not as vibrant as before it was installed.
. Muriatic Acid. For many years, muriatic acid was the cleaner used for this problem. Muriatic acid is effective, cheap, and risky to people, pets, and metal fixtures. Muriatic acid has been known to soak down into the surface and dry. This leaves acid crystals that over years reacts with moisture in the air and releases undetectable acid particles that over time creates pits on metal fixtures.
. Sulfamic Acid is a commonly used and very weak acidic cleaner. "Grout Residue Remover" is much stronger and is far faster and easier.
. Vinegar is another commonly recommended grout haze remover. It is very weak in acid content and thus, very slow and labor intensive. Also, it contains a light oily content that makes a surface look better for a little while but also attracts dirt and dust.
. "Grout Residue Remover" saves time and money for any size project.
. Used by DIY and professional installers.

Why would you want to use "Grout Residue Remover"?:

You want to use "Grout Residue Remover" if:

. If unfortunately, you did not use Aldon "Grout Easy".

. You found that grout haze or residue is trapped in the face texture.

. You know that muriatic Acid can penetrate down into the surfacing and dry out. The dry crystals over years of contact with the moisture in the air will slowly release undetectable vapor. In a house, this vapor will over time create rust on metal household fixtures. And that can cost the loss of thousands of dollars worth of fixtures. "Grout Residue Remover" is buffered to eliminate this risk.

. You know that you do not want to have muriatic acid eat away the top layer of cement paste that results in burning of the grout, bleaching of color, and the reveal of sand particles that makes the grout blotchy and rough.

Do not "pre-seal" - apply a sealer before grouting.
Do not use any sealer as a grout release barrier (pre-sealing). This technique creates many risk factors to be avoided. Prevent grout smears, surface scratching and keep grout residue out of surface texture by coating with Aldon Grout Easy before grouting. Grout Easy is a water soluble coating that comes off easily while grout is being cleaned off in the normal process with water and a sponge.

Concerned about Doing It Yourself or what your contractor says?
If you are concerned about doing it yourself - consider that the satisfaction of a project is directly related to YOUR knowledge of what needs to be done and how. Who actually does the work is less important. We estimate that 50% of the usage of Aldon products is by "do it yourself" homeowners and we know they are happy because we hear from them.

Our goal for our contractor customers - NO CALL BACKS. A good contractor will understand the logic of Aldon application instructions on the labels and will not take shortcuts. If a contractor does not agree, feel free to let us find out what is so unusual about this particular project so the contractor does not have to return.

Health & Safety:
When you read all the health and safety warnings on a label, you will see we have done our best to make you think about working with any chemicals from any manufacturer. Even household cleaners purchased in supermarkets (many with more hazardous ingredients than we use because they are less expensive for the manufacturer) should be used with common sense and awareness. People have been injured by not knowing you can create poisonous gases by mixing chlorine bleach with some cleaning products. One of the many criteria involved in Aldon products is that all our products will be used with any other of our products and no normal combination of usage events should be hazardous. Nevertheless, use common sense and don't be in a hurry. Let each step prove itself satisfactorily before proceeding to the next.

Some people are allergic or sensitive to some chemicals, especially petroleum solvents. In that case, evaluate our water based products. With the solvent type products, immediately as applied use proper cross ventilation fans blowing across the floor and out the doors and windows. Do not use any chemical products from any manufacturer in a house with the sick, elderly, pets, babies, or other concerns.
