| Provides a way to rapidly and easily dust a tile floor without leaving a residue on the tile and virtually eliminate the need for vacuuming. See pictures below.
Not sure if an Aldon product is right for you? Good! You never know if the results will be exactly what you expect until you try it on your project. Order samples and eliminate the guesswork. See label reproduction below for application instructions.
PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS:
Convenient trigger grip sprayer on bottle.
For glazed tile, sealed or unsealed tile, stone, brick, slate, wood, vinyl, etc.
Does not leave any residue.
Therefore, you can walk right behind the dust mop.
At an easy walk, you can do 1000 square feet of floor in 3 minutes.
None of the drawbacks of janitorial and supermarket cleaners made for wood and other type flooring. Those usually contain an oil that is good for wood, but leaves a slippery, streaky residue on glazed or sealed surfaces that attract dust. Dust Whiz is oil and wax free.
Better for wood floors because it eliminates, or greatly reduces, the mop water that can harm wood.
"Dust Whiz" is part of the Aldon program of easy floor care
ITEMS OF INTEREST:
Picks up dust and pet hair
Floor is clean in a few minutes.
Multiuse
This product can also be sprayed on a hand held dust rag to do furniture, glass top tables, copper, metal range hoods, etc. Therefore, it is easier to take care of these little touch up jobs while walking around doing normal dusting. You can't do this with other dust cloth sprays containing oils. If a cloth is attached to the dust mop head and it is the cloth doing the cleaning, the mop head never gets dirty. Just scrape pet hair from cloth and put cloth in the laundry. Spray extra on the mop, or directly on the floor for removal of mud smears, pet foot prints, etc.
Does this mean that "Dust Whiz" works so well that you no longer need to wet mop?
No. But, the need is greatly reduced. The amount of dust and fiber in the air that settles on your floor determines your program. "Dust Whiz" will certainly remove what is on the tile, but a large, flat bottom dust mop will not get down to the bottom of the grout joints. Therefore, you might have fine dust accumulate in the grout joints that can be moved back to the tile face by air currents. The best overall solution is to periodically use Aldon Maintain as described on its page.
(Note also on the "Maintain" page the warnings about using vinegar and detergents on your floor as they leave streaks). The frequency that you need "Maintain" and "Dust Whiz" will be determined by your situation, but work is greatly reduced by the combination of the two products.
See the product label reproduction below for all the information on surface preparation, application technique, drying time, etc. This label reproduction will always be the most current. Because we are constantly improving information and passing on tips from users, this could be more up to date than the label on the container.

What about using these nifty little dusters with the disposable paper cloths?
They are an excellant compliment to the Aldon floor care program! |
Here are the pros and cons of the sheet dusters:
PRO
- Very maneuverable. They fit under furniture. Swivel back and forth nicely. Excellent for picking up dry dust. Paper sheets easy to handle
- "Wet" type sheets available for heavier requirements
|
CON
- Small size takes too long for large areas. 11 1/2" wide cleaning path vs. 27" or more. Therefore, only cleans less than half the area per pass. Relatively expensive. Lowest bulk price is approx. $.18 per sheet. The floor in the pictures below requires 2-3 sheets per day for major area touch up. AT $.36 - $.54 per day times 30 days equals $10.80 to $16.20 per month. Does not pick up footprints or spots that were wet.
- "Wet" version of the sheet dusters will pick up footprints and spots, but leave streaks. See below for a great alternative that is faster and easier, without buying expensive "wet" sheets.
|
Here is how to how to improve on the "Cons" of the sheet dusters.
- Too small?? Use both.
- Expensive?? See below for how to bring it down to less than $2.00 per month.
- Footprints and spots? "Dust Whiz" gets them.
- Streaks? "Dust Whiz" does not leave streaks.
Plain paper towel
"Brawny" - half size model |
Attach a plain paper towel at the front holders only. As the mop head is not pushed in reverse, the rear does not need to be attached (as shown).
Use only one light (not full) spray of "Dust Whiz". A one pint bottle of "Dust Whiz" contains approx. 400 full sprays. One spray at 1/400th of a bottle is approx. $.02. Therefore, the cost is $.02 plus a paper towel. At 2 to 3 times per day the cost is down to $1.20 to $1.80 per month (plus the paper towels). |

Note rolls of pet hair and dust |
The pictures below show the most difficult dust situation of all. A shiny tile floor of a dark color. When the sun shines across a floor like this, every spec of dust and dirt is highlighted.

This floor has just been thoroughly vacuumed. |

On closer look - spots a vacuum cannot remove. |

A standard articulating head mop from a janitorial
supply. Cloth clipped to head. |

A couple of squeezes to mist with Dust Whiz |

An additional mist of Dust Whiz on the spots
and they came up when the mop passed over. |

Even though the floor was just vacuumed,
this is the additional dirt picked up by Dust Whiz. |

You can continue walking the Dust Whiz treated mop
right onto wood and vinyl flooring and clean it also. |

24 Hours later and Dust Whiz picks up this accumulation of dust and pet hair. It also tends to add a little sparkle to the finish. |

Why so much dust and pet hair in just one day?
She has no idea where it comes from. |
|
Here is a little trick that improves on the wet sheet dusters and does a terrific job for a "quickie" mopping. For a one spot touch up, or to quickly do the whole floor - this is a real time and work saver. Save the regular wet mopping for a once a month deep cleaning and just do this when needed in between.

Paw prints require a
"damp" removal process

Just spray Dust Whiz
on a damp sponge mop

When you read all the health and safety warnings, you will see we have done our best to make you think about working with any chemicals from any manufacturer. Even household cleaners purchased in supermarkets (many with more hazardous ingredients than we use due to cost factors) should be used with common sense and awareness. People have been injured by not knowing you can create poisonous gases by mixing chlorine bleach with some cleaning products. One of the many criteria involved in Aldon products is that all our products will be used with any other of our products and no normal combination of usage events should be hazardous. Nevertheless, use common sense and don't be in a hurry. Let each step prove itself satisfactorily before proceeding to the next. |
