ALDON TILE COVER TCG 03/00

For use on difficult to keep clean glazed tile, such as the "Stone Look" textured and matte finish glazes. Creates easier and less frequent cleaning than vacuuming carpet. So foolproof it can be used by someone who does not, or can not, read the label instructions. Add coats to build some gloss if desired. Can be used outdoors and indoors. Does not create excess buildup requiring stripping, no buffing needed, non-yellowing, repels heel marks and scuffing, very inexpensive because is covers approximately 1000 square feet per gallon. Note: standing water can weaken any water based coating, including “Tile Cover”.

For additional information and assistance with your particular flooring material and the subjects indicated by underlined text, see the sales counter and/or visit us at www.aldonchem.com.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

The grout must be sealed and the tile must be clean so that “Tile Cover” can spread uniformly and form its protective film over a clean, non-absorbent surface. The underlying grout sealer must be fully cured. The surface must be dry, between 50-80 degrees F., CLEAN, and free of all foreign substances.

APPLICATION TECHNIQUE ( Easy: Pour & Spread The Puddle ) : Patch test first to insure satisfaction with your application techniques and the final appearance. Maintain adequate cross ventilation until fully cured. Wear all necessary for protection of breathing, eyes, and skin. Do not dilute! Clean equipment with clean water.

Suggested tool is an ordinary string mop because it automatically conforms to the high and low spots of grout joints and textured materials. Sponge mops (not a hand held sponge) are ok on smooth finish flooring and if bubbles are not created.

Do not shake. POUR directly from bottle to floor to make a small puddle (NO INTERMEDIATE CONTAINER i.e. paint tray, pail). Simply help the puddle to spread to a thin, even film. Do not paint out the edges to a thin coating. Do not leave puddles to dry. Use a minimum of overlap and touchup. Let first coat dry before applying a second.

Start with a small area and apply enough to result in a thin, even coating.

Use a minimum of overlap and touchup. Let first coat dry before applying a second.

As a general rule for average applications (varies with humidity) the coating will be: dry to touch in 15 minutes, dry to walk on in 30 minutes, dry hard in 1 hour.

In most cases you will see no gloss when dry. Additional coats may be applied to build up gloss.

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE - REPAIR:

Damp mop with “Maintain” to keep a clean floor. If traffic patterns appear it is only necessary to re-apply "Tile Cover" to the worn sections.

In the unlikely event of a stain being so severe as to actually damage the "Tile Cover" coating, that area may be patch repaired. Because "Tile Cover" is almost never stripped, Aldon does not make a stripper for it. Supermarket strippers will work, but take many applications because the "Tile Cover" film is so tough. Stronger strippers are available from janitorial supply companies. So that you get the strongest stripper available, but not so strong as to damage any underlying sealer, ask for an “industrial grade ammoniated acrylic wax stripper for resilient tile".
