ALDON BRICK & BLOCK CLEANER / GROUT RESIDUE REMOVER GRRBBG 07/00

Removes grout smears, mortar film, heavy efflorescence, mineral and lime deposits with ease from Brick, Block, Tile, Stone and Tools.

Quantity Guidelines: Heavy stains...100 sq. ft./gal Occasional stains...300 sq. ft./gal.

This product is far stronger than sulfamic acid cleaners, but without the problems caused by muriatic acid. Muriatic acid crystals can remain below the surface and continue to release metal rusting fumes over time.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

It is not required, but pre-wetting with plain water will prevent rapid absorption and keep the cleaner working at the surface. This product eats away at all cement, including grout and mortar. Therefore, flooding joints with water will reduce etching. Do not allow contact with enameled, chromed, metal plated, marble, aluminum, or other non-acid resistant surfaces.

APPLICATION TECHNIQUE: (See next section for cleaning efflorescence)

Wear gloves, boots, goggles, and all else necessary for protection of breathing, eyes, and skin while handling acid based products. Clean equipment with clean water. Open cap slowly to vent! Apply with any acid resistant brush, roller, sprayer, sponge, etc.

Dilute with 5 parts water first; then increase strength as necessary.

Allow to remain on surface 1 to 3 minutes, but not long enough to dry, or longer than necessary to accomplish the purpose.

Use chips of the surface material to scrape heavy deposits (or a stiff non-wire masonry brush).

Some amount of fizzing is the obvious indication of the stains being eaten away .

Additional applications will continue the process until residue is gone. If there is no “fizz” reaction, it is an indication of stains other than cement or efflorescence.

Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

CLEANING CRYSTALLINE EFFLORESCENCE:

Internal water evaporating from the surface is what causes efflorescence (white powdery and/or crystalline deposits). Therefore, avoid excess use of liquids and apply diluted cleaner with a sponge.

For final cleanup use only a clean, damp sponge and treat any residual efflorescence with "Efflorescence Treatment".

FIRST AID: SWALLOWED-Do not induce vomiting. Immediately drink large quantities of water. Call a physician or Poison Control Center. INHALED-If odor is strong or you notice dizziness, headache or eyewatering-STOP-leave area immediately. EYE/MUCOUS MEMBRANE CONTACT OR SKIN IRRITATION: Flush with water for at least 15 minutes.
