ALDON GROUT EASY GEG 02/00

For 15 years - “Grout Easy” has proven to save a tremendous amount of money due to the virtual elimination of grout cleanup time and effort.

Average coverage:

Highly absorbent materials...150 sq. ft./gal

Non-absorbent materials....................500 sq. ft./gal

For additional information and assistance with your particular flooring material and the subjects indicated by underlined text, see the sales counter and/or visit us at www.aldonchem.com.

"Grout Easy" eliminates problems associated with "Pre-sealing" (sealing before grouting) - scratching face of "Factory Sealed" pavers - and dangerous Muriatic acid cleaning.

UNGLAZED SURFACES:

Prevents cement paste from entering pinholes or sticking to face of stone, tile or paver.

With easily stained surfaces, like some of the light colored Terracottas, test first. Some of these tile will stain from a drop of water, therefore, make sure the "Grout Easy" does not stain it.

There is a very small percentage of Mexican tile that are so extremely porous they will require 3 or more applications of "Grout Easy". “Grout Easy” is even more necessary to prevent grout stains on these tile.

If subsurface water coming to the surface keeps the “Grout Easy” coating from drying out, the grouting process could remove the “Grout Easy” from the wet area. In this event, it is possible for the grout, or its possible additives (i.e. latex, acrylics, pigment, etc.) to remain on the surface in that area, and additional cleaning could be required.

GLAZED TILE WITH TEXTURE, STONE, SLATE, "RAISED TREAD" TYPE TILE:

Keeps grout from lodging in crevices and ridges (especially important with contrasting colored grout)

For any: "FACTORY SEALED" CLAY OR CEMENT PAVER:

Protects factory sealer from scratching during grouting. Usually you do not know what sealer has been used by the factory and this greatly compounds the problem of touching up scratches from the grout installation. Also, you should later seal the grout with the only grout sealer that will not attack any factory sealer, Aldon "Same Day Sealer". Then if you complete the project with Aldon "Lifeguard" over the entire floor, you should never be faced with having to touch up the factory sealer. This is especially important if the factory has also color stained the paver.

APPLICATION TECHNIQUE:

Surface must be clean and dry. Wear gloves and all else necessary for protection of breathing, eyes, and skin.

BEFORE grouting, apply as is (DO NOT DILUTE). Apply heavy coating with brush or short nap roller (not a sponge). You are creating a temporary layer thick enough to leave a definite coating over the surface. Keep drips into the grout joints to a minimum. Use a criss cross pattern on very porous surfaces.

Dries in approximately 30 minutes. A second coat may be desirable. Begin grouting within two hours.

GROUT SURFACE IN THE USUAL MANNER and follow with the usual water and sponge cleanup process. The "Grout Easy" coating will be removed automatically at the same time. If any happens to remain, apply clean tap water and agitate with a bristle brush to bring "Grout Easy" back to a liquid state.

Wipe clean with a damp sponge so that a sealer applied later will be able to penetrate the surface properly. It is important to note that IF the "Grout Easy" coating is left with grout on it for more than a few hours, the "Grout Easy" will begin to make the grout stick tighter to the tile face, making it more difficult to clean off.

Clean equipment with clean water.
