ALDON FINE STONE SEALER FSS 08/01

This is a new technology sealer/protector designed for the special needs of fine marble, limestone, and granite.
This product :
Protects from water and oil based stains.
Does not make any change to the stone appearance.
Slows down etching damage from acidic drinks.
Average coverage 200 – 1400+ sq.ft/gal depending on material absorption. For more information on the subjects indicated by underlined text - visit aldonchem.com.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Do Not Preseal (seal before grouting). Instead, use "Grout Easy" grout release. Caution: acidic cleaners can etch marble and limestone.
Surface must be dry, between 50-80 °F., CLEAN, free of all substances that may cause a reaction or impair adhesion and bond (i.e. previous sealers). Do not use over, or under, any other sealer. If previously sealed - BEFORE proceeding see PROBLEM SOLVING: “Redoing A Previously Sealed Surface"

APPLICATION TECHNIQUE ( Easy-Pour & Push The Puddle ): Shake First
PATCH TEST FIRST to insure satisfaction with techniques and appearance. Maintain adequate cross ventilation until fully cured. Wear gloves, and all else necessary for protection of breathing, eyes, and skin. Do not dilute!
FLOORING, COUNTERS, ETC.:
No sponge or sprayer. POUR directly from bottle to surface to make a small puddle (NO INTERMEDIATE CONTAINER i.e. paint tray, pail). Spread puddle, do not surface paint. Recap after each pour to prevent evaporation.
Move puddle with a pad, brush, or a short nap paint roller made to not rotate, thereby creating a large, soft squeegee that conforms to the surface. Allow to self-level. ( Smooth finish grout requires less sealer than grainy finish. )
Accomplish maximum sealer penetration by allowing approx. 5 minutes or more for absorption. Before the liquid dries - wipe off excess with a clean, white cloth.
Within 15 minutes (while area is still damp) - do a second application using the same technique as the first. Clean tools with soap and water.
Allow a minimum of 4 hours curing, then wash surface with plain water to remove any residue and achieve maximum repellency.
As a general rule for average applications (varies with humidity) the sealer will be: dry to touch in 2 hours, dry to walk on in 4 hours.
See web site for options of increased protection and repair from acidic liquids.
WALLS: (Same goals as counters and flooring section above)
Apply with brush, short nap roller, or sprayer. Note: The better the sealer penetration the more you will achieve the goals discussed above.

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE: Always cleanup spills immediately. Use Aldon “Maintain” and “Dust Whiz”. Notes: aggressive cleaners prematurely degrade finish. Sealer may not accept some top coatings. Test with water drops when determined by usage and reseal if drops absorb.
