ALDON CRYSTAL GLAZE SEALER CGG 0700

Verify sealer choice with the Aldon “Sealer Selector”. This sealer for absorbent flooring materials:

Creates no color change on most materials

Is high gloss and self levels to a smooth finish

Can be used on dry or slightly damp materials so long as surface is dry.

Will not wear from foot traffic if coated with Aldon “Lifeguard”.

Average coverage is 350 – 600 sq. ft/gal depending on material absorption rate.

Note: This "coating" sealer will bond to a weak or strong surface, therefore, any colorants or other surface treatments must be tightly bonded to the tile body or the sealer could peel because it is attached to the unbonded surface treatment, not the tile body.

For additional information and assistance with your particular flooring material and the subjects indicated by underlined text, see the sales counter and/or visit the Aldon web site at www.aldonchem.com.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Do Not Preseal (sealing prior to grouting). Instead, use Aldon "Grout Easy" grout release. Surface must be between 55-80 º F., CLEAN, and free of all substances that may cause a reaction or impair adhesion . Prior to sealing-test for 3 second absorption of water drops to confirm nothing exists to interfere with proper adhesion. Do not use over, or under, any other sealer. If previously sealed - first see Problem Solving: Redoing A Previously Sealed Surface"

APPLICATION TECHNIQUE ( Easy - Pour & Spread The Puddle ): PATCH TEST THE SEALER FIRST to insure satisfaction with your application techniques and the final appearance. Maintain adequate cross ventilation until fully cured. Wear gloves, and all else necessary for protection of breathing, eyes, and skin. Do not dilute! Clean equipment with clean water.

No sponge or sprayer. POUR directly from bottle to floor to make a small puddle (NO INTERMEDIATE CONTAINER i.e. paint tray, pail). Suggested tool is a pad or short nap paint roller made to not rotate, thereby creating a large, soft squeegee that conforms to the surface.

Simply help the puddle to spread to a thick, even coating. Do not paint out the edges to a thin coating. Allow to flow and self-level.

Judge effectiveness of sealer application, not by floor gloss, but by water drops not being absorbed.

A second application will require less sealer. Let first dry before applying a second.

For average applications (varies with humidity) : dry to touch in 1 hour, dry to walk on in 4 hours, dry hard in 24 hours, cured in 3 days.

As with all water based coating sealers, this sealer may become hazy and slightly less hard if under water for long periods of time, but will return to its original state after water is gone.

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE: Add gloss and additional stain protection by applying "Lifeguard". Thereafter, just use “Maintain” and “Dust Whiz”.
