Ordering from Aldon

Aldon home page Project worksheet From your perspective Aldon product list

This page is for an inquiry regarding the use of an Aldon product and the results are not what was expected.

  • It is not for a problem creating or placing your order.
  • It is not for a question about your project before using Aldon products.
  • It is not for a queston relating to the actual shipment of your order.
  • Back up one page for those issues.

This page is for the situation where you have tested Aldon product(s) and found unexpected results.  The information you provide below will help us both to understand why that was so you can proceed in confidence to your end goal.

By the way, it is a good thing to find out now that the job conditions are not what you thought.  Don't worry!  Everything can be analyzed and made right with your help because all Aldon products do everything we describe.

Please fill in all the information below to help us better understand your project and what is happening.   If we do not have to come back and ask you for that information, it will greatly speed up our ability to assist you.  Use your "Tab" key to jump to the next box to speed up the process.

The first thing we need to know is the answer to this question in a one sentence description.
What did you see or not see that was not what you wanted and expected?

  • Just one sentence. Do not incude more than that as we will pick up the details and your comments below and in the sequence that gives us the data where we need it.  You will have plenty of opportunity to expand your comments below.
  • Include the Aldon product name so we know what you used and can relate that to the results.  Do not just say stripper, or sealer, or cleaner because we make too many of them and need to know exactly which is being discussed here.

(Example: "The ABC sealer was not a shiny as I wanted." or "The DEF cleaner did not remove it all.")

History of project before you began to test/use Aldon products
Your surface type is: full description please (i.e. porcelain tile, flagstone, slate, "clay" brick, "concrete" brick/paver, terrazzo, concrete interlocking paver, marble table top)
On the raw, uninstalled, unsealed, right out of the package surfacing, the absorption test you will see here shows that randomly placed water drops fully absorb into the surface in how many seconds? (indicate if it varies by 5 seconds or more across the surface)
The manufacturer's (not the stores) name and product name for this surfacing material is: (i.e.Acme Creama Marfil marble, Acme Pennsylvania Bluestone, Acme Rajah Slate purple, Old Chicago Brick, etc.)  Please note - this can be extremely important. Some people have proceeded with totally wrong assumptions about their project by giving us the wrong information.  (i.e. telling us it was a "raw, unsealed brick" when, in fact, it turned out to be a 50 year old "used" brick with a completely unknown history of sealers, waterproofers, paint, cleaners, below the surface).  Anything can be dealt with properly and with relative ease if we receive valid information.
The part of the building is the: (i.e. kitchen, bathroom, patio, driveway, etc. )
It has been sealed in the past with what? (We need the manufacturer and the product name (i.e. Acme Miracle Sealer #444)  If you think it was not sealed, you should still check its absorption rate against an uninstalled piece of the same batch of surfacing.  If you see a difference, then input here - "It might have been sealed with unknown sealer"
How many gallons of that sealer were applied?
The name (manufacturer and product names) of any wax, linseed or other oil, or any other non-sealer coating used in the past?
What products were used to clean/maintain it? (manufacturer's name and product name (i.e. Acme acid cleaner, Ajax Cleanser, Acme Vinegar)
The size of the area treated thus far (not the whole project) is how many square feet as close as you can estimate? (i.e. 9 square inches, 6 square feet, etc.)

Your Goals: What are the original conditions of the area, what do you want to accomplish,
and briefly (we will get more detail below) what did you see that you did not expect or was not what you wanted?

----------    Below will give us the history of the project to this point   -------------

Manufacturer and brand name of stripper: (Just saying stripper does not give us what we need. We need i.e. Aldon Premium Stripper, Acme Vinyl Tile Stripper, Fred's Super Orange Stripper, etc.

Results of absorption test after stripper used: (Water drops in various places darken and start to absorb in how many seconds)

Surface appearance after stripping: (i.e. glossy look is gone, never any gloss and looks the same, color is uneven and should be even, etc.)

Comments at this point after stripping: (i.e. stripping seems to be complete and ready for new sealer, stripping does not appear to be complete, etc.  What did you expect to see that you did not see?)

Check all that apply.
